Odyssey extends its robust data management capabilities through seamless integration with personal Microsoft accounts, facilitating highly efficient import and export operations using Microsoft Excel Online documents. To fully leverage these critical functionalities, a secure association with a personal Microsoft account is essential for each Odyssey user.

Seamless Authorization Process: The initial integration of your personal Microsoft account with Odyssey is designed for both simplicity and security. The first time you initiate a task involving data exchange (such as an import or export), Odyssey will intuitively prompt you to authorize secure access to your Microsoft account. Once this authorization is successfully completed, this seamless connection will be permanently established within Odyssey for your user profile, eliminating the need for repeated authentication.
- Alternatively, you can proactively establish this vital connection at any time by navigating to the My Account section within Odyssey, selecting the Integrations tab, and proceeding with the Microsoft authentication process.
Individual Account Association and Best Practices: A fundamental principle of the Odyssey system is that each individual Odyssey user account maintains an exclusive association with precisely one personal Microsoft account. To ensure optimal performance, data integrity, and prevent potential access challenges—particularly with sophisticated import and update tools—we strongly recommend that multiple users refrain from sharing a single Odyssey account. When an import or export process is initiated by a specific user, that user is automatically designated as the definitive owner of the Microsoft Excel Online documents generated during that operation.
Organized Data Management within Your OneDrive: For systematic organization and ease of access, all Microsoft Excel Online documents created through Odyssey will reside within a dedicated HistoryIT folder in that user’s individual OneDrive. Should this folder not already exist, Odyssey will automatically create it in the root directory of your OneDrive, ensuring a streamlined file structure. It is important to note that Odyssey will maintain only one root HistoryIT folder. While other authorized users are fully capable of accessing and editing import and export documents generated by a different user, the original owner of those documents will need to share explicit edit permissions to facilitate collaborative work.
Important Note for Account Owners: For Odyssey account owners or administrators engaging in user impersonation, it is crucial to recognize that this action, in itself, does not automatically grant access to the Microsoft account associated with the impersonated user. Access to the Microsoft Excel Online documents remains intrinsically tied to the specific Microsoft account that owns those valuable assets.
