Click the Add New button in the top left of the Website section to start building a standard website. The different website categories are listed in a pop-up window. Add a standard site should be chosen. Odyssey directs you to a page where you can change your website's general settings showing the “Overall Settings” table controls and the other navigation elements not clickable.. Before clicking the save button, you are required to set up some basic information under the overall tabs. This fundamental information is divided into several tabs.

  • On first tab "site title" you are expected to provide the short title and full title of the website

  • The "Web browsers" on this end of the configuration demand that you provide a URL slug for an active website by making it accessible and active (Note: Odyssey will load the first available active site when you attempt to visit an inactive site), then as well as an IP whitelist; if the website is not made active, it won't be available for public viewing.

  • The more content cue and the favicon are to be provided under "Visual Cue". The homepage currently displays the more content cue, but only when new parts have been uploaded. Verify this by putting the Home Page controls to the test. When browsing the public site, you can verify that the favicon has replaced the Odyssey default one in the title bar.The default favicon ought to reappear if the custom one is deleted.

For your website, use a simple title. This text is displayed when a user sees your website in a browser window tab. This field must be filled out. Select a complete title for your website. This text can be seen at the very top of the home page. Odyssey fills in the initial portion of the URL slug automatically. Your website's web address is as follows. To finish the slug, enter text in the text box on the right. By clicking on the dialog boxes, you can choose whether the website is up and accessible or dormant and unavailable. If the inactive button is chosen, you won't be able to preview your website.

For the "head" and "body" HTML sections, there are text fields. Additionally, a text field for IP whitelist creation is present. These IP addresses are permitted to access your website. If this box is empty and the "active and accessible" option is clicked, your website is available to the general public. Your website is only accessible to users from the given IP address, if there are any. The choice of typography is then yours. Your website offers a variety of font and color options for body and header content.

  • The Suppressed Metadata tab displays two lists: one on the left with all available item types and metadata; the other on the right with selected metadata.  No item type is initially selected, therefore the left list is empty. However, after an item type is selected, the left list is filled with the non-selected fields for that item type.  When one of the fields on the left is selected and the add button is clicked, the field is added to the right list and the selected fields (those in the right list) are omitted. The list on the left slides to the right when the add all button is clicked.

  • On the item detail metadate tab depending on its context, the metadata displayed on an item detail page changes. Items are shown in several contexts on your public site, such as the publishing view or gallery view. Please utilize the settings for the appropriate section, which are given below, to regulate the metadata that is displayed in a certain scenario.

You can edit your website in either the production or staging settings. When you save changes made during production, they are immediately reflected on the live website. Before publishing to the live website, you can test new features or make specific adjustments in the staging environment. In the Website section's upper left corner are the tabs for production and staging..

When all of the new website's settings have been completed, from the site title to the web browser's activation, click the view button to be directed to another browser tab where the public view of everything you've saved has been achieved.

Standard Website Public View

Your website will have very little content at initially.  Furthermore, the homepage shows text in white by default, which may be difficult to see against a white homepage background.  These options are available in the Home Page controls.  You may confirm the site title is rendered by clicking and dragging in the white space.
